What
is TELC? (The European Language Certificates)
In 2001, Europe
published the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages,
which defines the standarts of learning, teaching and evaluation
of the language competence in the European context. In 1998 is founded
WBT Weiterbildungs – Testsysteme GmbH, with the basic idea of developing
systems for foreign language knowledge evaluation. WBT in based
in Frankfurt, germany, and has more than 3000 test centers throughout
Europe. WBT works together with commerce palaces in many countries,
as well as with many educational institutions, big banks such as
Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Bundesbank, insurance companies, and other
big companies – Bayer AG, Daymler-Crysler etc. WBT Weiterbildungs
– Testsysteme GmbH is a member of ALTE, where members are also University
of Cambridge, Goethe Institut, Universidad de Salamanca etc.
Where
TELC is recognized from many institutions
TELC as
a state exams:
- In the adminstrative
regulations governing applications for German citizenship, the TELC
examination Zertifikat Deutsch is recognised as one of the examinations
with which one can prove language competence. You can get more information
at your local government offices or your Volkshochschul centre on
the procedure for acquiring German citizenship.
- Many German universities recognize TELC exams for admission.
- In Catalonia TELC exams are recognized by state schools.
- In Italy the Zertifikat Deutsch test is recognized by the Ministry
of Education
- In Poland all Â1 and Â2 exams are required for starting a job
in the state administration of the country
- In Hungary and the Chech Republic all TELC exams are recognized
by the state.
TELC as
an admission test:
- In Germany,
Austria, Hungary, Chech Republic, and Poland, TELC tests are recognized
by many universities and sometimes support the admission exam
- In Germany more and more universities recognize the TELC certificates,
as a proof for language knowledge level.
TELC for
starting job:
- The TELC certificates
are most needed as a proof for language knowledge level in Europe
- Many of the exams are directly connected with language use at
